Initial Assessments
The initial assessment of each case is of immense importance. During the initial interviews we assess each business’ unique requirements and gain an understanding of the organisational structure.
To ensure that we achieve the optimal solution for each individual case, each assessment focuses on the requirements of both the employee and employer in order to understand and clarify the unique elements of each situation.
By doing so, we assist the stakeholders to establish realistic and achievable goals.
Return to Work Consultation
We consult with all of the relevant stakeholders as part of the return to work program. This includes at a minimum, consulting with the worker, employer, treating practitioner and the WorkCover agent.
Return to Work Planning
The return to work planning engages the worker, employer and treating practitioner to develop a plan of action to facilitate the worker's sustainable and safe return to work at the earliest opportunity.
Regular Return to Work Monitoring
We provide ongoing care to employees through face to face and telecommunication meetings.
Task Analysis
To develop a deep understanding of how a situation needs to be improved to prevent future occupational health or safety risks a task analysis is performed to identify the details of a task.
Functional Education
With the objective of returning a worker to physical strength, an evaluation of performance in relation to physical components of the task is conducted and based on these results the employee is taught practical and effective work processes.
Work Site Visits and Assessments
To further understand the occupational health and safety situation that has arisen Optimum Career performs conducive meetings and assessments with relevant stakeholders at the work site. This provides additional merit to the recommended solutions as they can be actively practised at the workplace.
Work Conditioning
Work Conditioning is designed and conducted with the objective of improving physical functionality and helping the employee manage their pain.
Case Conferences
Case conferences provide an opportunity for the employee, Optimum Career and the relevant treating practitioners to discuss treatment plans, functional education and return to work goals in accordance to medical capacity.
Occupational Rehabilitation Counseling
Occupational Rehabilitation Counseling involves providing support and encouragement to the employee in carrying out effective rehabilitation activities.
Vocational Counseling
To assist in implementing the recommendations of a vocational assessment counseling is provided to the employee to find suitable work.
Functional Assessments
Physical Functional Capacity assessments and evaluations are performed by qualified physiotherapists. We use a computerized testing system that compiles assessment results that are comprehensively and systematically reported.
Vocational Assessment
Vocational Assessments involve identifying suitable employment options for employees based on current labour market analysis and best fit skills.
Re education and Monitoring
Re education involves reiteration of the critical details that are involved in long term sustainable employment for the employee. Optimum Career boosts the employment options for employees by providing re education services that cater to the individual’s employment needs.
